Description
PRODUCER NOTE:
Cantina Sacchetto was founded in 1920 and today is run by Filiberto Sacchetto, alongside his son Paolo and daughter Beatrice. Together they oversee all aspects of the winemaking process, with attention, passion and great flexibility. Through innovation and investment in modern vinification techniques, they produce stunning still and sparkling wines for which the Veneto region has become famous.
VINTAGE:
2023 was characterised by a typical winter followed by a mild, sunny and dry spring, which allowed the vine’s phenological phases to progress. A mild summer followed, with periodical rainfall that was evenly distributed throughout the period. The vines produced healthy bunches that were not affected by excessive sun exposure or periods of dehydration. The temperature range that characterised the summer resulted in good levels of acidity, essential for obtaining sparkling wines with the right notes in terms of freshness.
VINEYARD:
The grapes for this wine come from the DOC Prosecco regions in Veneto and Fruili Venezia Giulia. This wine is predominantly made from Glera, a variety which flourishes in this area. The vines are trained according to the traditional espalier method, which maximises sunlight, and have hazelnut coloured shoots producing large, long clusters of golden-yellow berries. The vines are carefully cultivated to optimise the quality of the fruit, with pruning to eliminate excessive shoots, topping and binding the canopy to obtain a suitable microclimate to ensure the berries mature and accumulate good concentration of fruit flavours.
WINEMAKING:
The Glera grapes were gently pressed in a horizontal press followed by slow fermentation of the pure must with selected yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The Pinot Nero grapes underwent skin contact for a period of five to seven days, which resulted in the delicate pink colour. The Glera must and Pinot Nero musts were then refermented together to produce the gentle sparkle in a pressure and temperature controlled autoclave, according to the Charmat method. This lasted approximately 60 days, and when it was complete the sparkling wine was carefully prepared for bottling.
TASTING NOTE:
Crystalline pale pink in colour, this sparkling rosé has appealing floral aromas of violet layered with wild strawberry. Flavours of raspberry, cherry and wild red berried fruit are supported by light, soft bubbles. Refreshing, with lovely balance and a dry, fruity finish.

Glera 88%, Pinot Nero 12%.
