South Africa

South African wine has a history dating back to 1659 with Constantia near Cape Town. Now, a new wave of winemakers has helped elevate the image of South African wine from the country that was once known for bulk over bottle.

The new energy that the South African wine industry has today is epitomised by a handful of innovative and dynamic winemakers, many of whom we are proud to have in our portfolio.

We have recently added Elgin’s Kershaw to our expanding South African portfolio. Sheffield born, Richard Kershaw MW, is one of only a handful of Masters of Wine that are actually making wine – these are well worth looking out for!

The pioneering wine producers of this region are going from strength to strength and we are sure there will be more excitement coming out of the country in the years to come.
