Turkey
Another of the ancient world wine producing countries. Turkey is producing wines that until recently have been slipping under the radar of most, but are now slowly announcing their presence on the international scene as the focus on quality improves.
Turkey’s landscape is home to between 600-1,200 indigenous grape varieties, from subtle whites to powerful reds. It is no surprise the Turkish wine industry is getting the recognition it deserves throughout Europe.
One Turkish wine we are really excited by is Buzbag, a full-flavoured red made from Bogazkere grapes grown in the Anatolia region of Turkey, believed by some to be the birthplace of wine. These indigenous varieties are as exciting as they are a challenge to pronounce, but one things for certain – they are delicious.
