Sacchetto – Pinot Grigio Blush Spumante Della Venezie Brut – NV

PRODUCER NOTE:
Cantina Sacchetto was founded in 1920 and today is run by Filiberto Sacchetto, alongside his son Paolo and daughter Beatrice. Together they oversee all aspects of the winemaking process, with attention, passion and great flexibility. Through innovation and investment in modern vinification techniques, they produce stunning still and sparkling wines for which the Veneto region has become famous.

VINEYARD:
The Pinot Grigio grapes are grown in the Delle Venezie region, which covers the provinces of Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino. The grapes are grown in chalky and volcanic soils, which impart elegance and are ideal soils in which to cultivate grapes for sparkling wine. The cool, breezy climate is heavily influenced by the Alps and helps maintain fresh acidity in the wines. The temperature variation between the day and night helps develop aromatic intensity in the grapes. This combination of climate and terroir results in fresh, aromatic and vibrant wines.

WINEMAKING:
The grapes were harvested at optimum maturity, destemmed and gently pressed. Maceration at controlled temperatures took place on the skins to obtain the desired level of delicate blush colour. The grapes were pressed to obtain the must which was fermented with selected yeasts. The gently sparkling wine was made following the Charmat long method.

TASTING NOTE:
A pale blush with copper reflections and fine, continuous bubbles, this Pinot Grigio rosé has an appealing floral bouquet, with notes of acacia and wisteria combined with summer red fruits. Mellow and harmonious with an off-dry, velvety palate.
