Description
PRODUCER:
Cantina Sacchetto is located in the heart of the Veneto region. Founded in 1920, today it is run by Filiberto Sacchetto, alongside his son Paolo and daughter Beatrice. Together they oversee all aspects of the winemaking process, with attention, passion and great flexibility, combining tradition with innovation. In 2022 Sacchetto was awarded the Equalitas Certification which officially recognises social, environmental and economic pillars of sustainability, through biodiversity, carbon and water footprint and ecological cultivation practices. Through innovation and investment in modern vinification techniques, the family produces stunning still and sparkling wines for which the Veneto region has become famous.
VINEYARD:
The grapes come from IGT Veneto, in the northeastern corner of Italy. It administratively forms part of the Triveneto zone, along with its smaller neighbours Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The Veneto wine region has a beautiful climate with cold winters and warm summers that enjoys breezes from the Adriatic Sea, which has a cooling effect on the vines during the summer heat. The area is also influenced by cooling winds from the Alps, which are situated to the north of the region. The vines for this wine are grown in a vineyard with marl soils, which produces fresh and elegant wines. The grapes are handharvested at optimum maturity.
WINEMAKING:
The grapes were destemmed and macerated prior to fermentation, which took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. The wine was made in an unoaked style and was kept in tank until bottled to preserve its freshness and purity of fruit.
