PRODUCER:
Cantina Sacchetto is located in the heart of the Veneto region. Founded in 1920, today it is run by Filiberto Sacchetto, alongside his son Paolo and daughter Beatrice. Together they oversee all aspects of the winemaking process, with attention, passion and great flexibility, combining tradition with innovation. In 2022, Sacchetto was awarded the Equalitas Certification, which officially recognises social, environmental and economic pillars of sustainability, through biodiversity, carbon and water footprint and ecological cultivation practices. Through innovation and investment in modern vinification techniques, the family produces stunning still and sparkling wines for which the Veneto region has become famous.
VINEYARD:
The grapes are grown in IGT Trevenezie where the soils in the vineyard are made up of marl. IGP Trevenezie is situated in the North East of Italy and encompasses the regions of Fruili Venezie Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige and the Veneto. The IGP was created as of 2017, it was previously known as IGP delle Venezie.
WINEMAKING:
The grapes were destemmed to reduce the levels of tannins in the resulting wine, pressed and macerated to gently extract aromatics, flavour and fine tannins. Fermentation took place with selected yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was kept in tank until bottled, preserving the fruity characteristics of the Pinot Noir variety.
