Description
ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Château Lestrille Capmartin wines are full-bodied, with structure and personality. The Château is located at the northern point of the Entre-deux-Mers appellation in the small town of St. Germain du Puch between Libourne and Bordeaux. Following the philosophy that winemaking lies in the vineyard itself, sustainable winegrowing practices are used in order to respect the balance of the soil. The vines have been cultivated organically since 2019, and the estate has been certified organic since the 2023 vintage. Talented winemaker Estelle Roumage combines strict selection with a tailor-made approach to vinification. Each parcel is vinified with minimal intervention to respect and optimise the characteristics of the vintage and terroir, with subtle oak ageing, creating charming wines with the utmost appeal.
ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
The grapes come from the Lieu Dit of Capmartin, where the vines are cultivated organically and according to “la lutte raisonnée”, using sustainable agricultural methods and reducing the amount of chemicals in order to respect the land and its environment. The estate is certified HVE Level 3. The vines are grown in clay and silt soils which produce beautifully balanced wines.
THE WINEMAKING PROCESS:
The grapes were picked at optimum maturity and carefully selected to ensure the top quality fruit was vinified. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, retaining the fragrant aromas and purity of fruit. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, imparting subtle complexity. Bottling took place after 18 months.
