Description
PRODUCER:
Champagne Collet, with its elegant Art Deco packaging, is evocative of the Belle Époque era from when it was established. It is the oldest cooperative in Champagne, dating back to 1921. Since its inception, Collet has been creating Champagnes of character with authenticity, elegance and great finesse. Located in Aÿ, in the heart of the Champagne region, Collet represents some of the finest growers and mainly sources from vineyards which are based on Premiers and Grands Crus sites. Each cuvée reflects the diversity of the region’s terroirs and has been masterfully blended to suit gastronomic cuisine.
VINEYARD:
This assemblage comes predominantly from 20 Crus from the Premiers and Grands Crus of the Champagne region and is completed with 20% reserve wines. 50% Pinot Noir from the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus villages of Aÿ, Hautvillers, Avenay-Vald’Or or Louvois, which produce a light, tender and fruity wine. 40% Chardonnay, mostly from the Premier Cru of Vertus, contributes freshness and lemony notes. The mineral dimension and flinty aromas come from the Cru of Villers- Marmery, which has a limestone soil. Grands Crus and Premiers Crus villages such as Chouilly, Avize, Oger and Vaudemange complete the assemblage, imparting opulence and complexity. 10% Meunier provides roundness and suppleness. This assemblage Brut Rosé also includes 16% Pinot Noir from Mailly-Champagne, well known for its aromatic power and its richness, and from Vertus, which, when vinified as red wine, imparts fruity and luscious aromas.
WINEMAKING:
The blend is completed with 20% reserve wines to preserve and showcase the Champagne Collet house style. This cuvée was aged in bottle for a minimum of four years in the very heart of the historic limestone cellars, which are centuries old.
TASTING NOTE:
An intense and luminous peachy pink rosé delivers delicate aromas of mandarin, peach, mulberries and raspberries. Refreshing, with a richness of fruit supported by a round, supple and velvety structure. The beautiful, silky texture is sustained by a delicate sparkle.
