ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Located in Yepes to the north of Toledo, Casa del Valle was established in 2000 with the aim of producing wines which reflect the personality of the local terroir and microclimate through their unique character. In this district in Castilla La Mancha, the wines are carefully crafted from grapes grown in 82 hectares of new vineyards, which surround this Bodega. The varieties planted include Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, all chosen for their suitability for ageing and their welldefined character. The estate also boasts 65 hectares of olive trees, which encourages biodiversity. The bodega boasts spectacular views, and the winery is equipped with the with the latest, cutting-edge technology, while casks are sourced from the best barrel makers.
ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
The vines are grown in vineyards located around the village of Yepes, in the province of Toledo in the Tajo River Valley. The soil has high calcareous content, with predominance of gypsum and a sandy loam texture, which offers good water retention to nourish the vines during the warm summers. The vines are around 20 years old and benefit from the dry, warm climate which has an annual rainfall of approximately 400 millimetres per annum.
THE WINEMAKING PROCESS:
The two grape varieties were vinified separately in order to preserve the maximum character of each varietal. The wine was matured in barrels to achieve greater complexity and impart delicate vanilla tones to the wine.
OUR TASTING NOTES:
