Wiston Estate is a family-owned English wine estate located in the South Downs of Sussex. The Goring family has owned the estate since 1743. Today, Richard and Kirsty Goring lead the vineyard and winery.

The idea to plant vines came from Pip Goring. She grew up in South Africa’s winelands and recognised the estate’s potential. The chalk soils and local climate share clear similarities with Champagne. The first 16 acres of vines were planted in 2006.

The vineyards sit on a south-facing chalk slope and benefit from excellent exposure. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier form the core of the plantings. Wiston also works with a small number of trusted growers across south-east England to support quality and consistency.

Winemaker Marcus Rayner-Ward leads the winemaking team. They follow biodynamic principles in both vineyard and winery. This approach supports biodiversity and respects natural cycles. Today, Wiston Estate produces refined English sparkling wines with precision, balance, and depth.
