Founded in 1811 – the year of the Great Comet – Maison Ackerman began its story under a lucky star. It was also the year of an outstanding vintage, marking the start of a legacy in fine sparkling wine.

Jean-Baptiste Ackerman, a bold and inquisitive young man from Brussels, honed his craft in Champagne before moving to the Val de Loire. There, he acquired historic limestone cellars that offered the perfect conditions for ageing his wines to perfection.

A pioneer of the Méthode Traditionnelle, Ackerman was among the first to create sparkling wines from Chenin Blanc. His dedication to excellence soon earned him a gold medal at the Universal Exposition of Paris in 1855.

Today, Ackerman continues to produce elegant, expressive wines that reflect the Loire’s unique terroir – vibrant fizz with freshness, finesse, and a touch of history in every glass.
