Description
ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Cantina Bonacchi has been making fine Tuscan wines for three generations. The wines are produced from 40 hectares in the Chianti Montalbano area, as well as from 10 hectares divided between Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. They also own 20 hectares in the Chianti Classico area. Modern technology and family expertise enable Bonacchi to offer excellent wines from their four estates in Tuscany.
ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
The Sangiovese grapes are grown in a limited area in the provinces of Florence and Siena. The vines are spur cordon trained and are grown in marl and limestone soils. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness using traditional methods and modern automated machinery to ensure the optimum freshness of the berries.
THE WINEMAKING PROCESS:
The best bunches of grapes were vinified immediately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Daily pumping overtook place, in conjunction with rack and returns of the wine, to obtain the desired level of extraction of flavour, colour and structure to the wine. Malolactic conversion occurred spontaneously after the alcoholic fermentation. The wine was matured in large oak barrels, adding complexity to the resulting wine.
OUR TASTING NOTE:
An easy-drinking style of Chianti characterised by spicy notes, wild berry fruits and delicate nuances of vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and warm with beautiful balance and concentrated cherry fruits and excellent persistence on the finish.
GRAPE VARIETY:
Sangiovese 100%.
