PRODUCER NOTE:
Doña Paula is a leading, modern winery at the forefront of exploring and investing in new, high quality wine regions in Argentina. Established in 1997, they own all of their vineyards covering 700 hectares. These vineyard sites are located in the best subregions within Mendoza including Ugarteche, Altamira, Gualtallary and Tupungato. The vineyards have always been cultivated using sustainable methods which helps to maximise the true expression of terroir, and in 2019 Doña Paula was certified as a sustainably managed winery by Bodegas de Argentina. Continuous innovation in vineyard management ensures Doña Paula produces top quality wines from one year to the next.

VINEYARD:
The grapes are sourced from two vineyards: Alluvia Vineyard, which is located in Gualtallary, Tupungato, Uco Valley, at 1,350 metres above sea level; and the Los Cerezos Vineyard which is located in the Cordon del Plata Mountains, Tupungato, Uco Valley, at 1,000 metres above sea level. The climate typically presents warm days and cool nights with an average temperature variation of 14°C. It is this diurnal temperature variation, which extends the ripening period, balances the crisp acidity while producing complex flavours in the grapes. The average annual rainfall is low at 280mm. At Doña Paula, the vineyards have always been managed using sustainable agriculture practices. The combination of loamy, sandy, rocky and well drained soils with an exhaustive selection of the best French clones, result in this premium example of Sauvignon Blanc.

WINEMAKING:
The grapes were hand-picked. Destemming and pressing were gently carried out, followed by a pellicular maceration, during which the skins imbue the must with their varietal characteristics. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures of between 12°C to 15°C in order to preserve the primary aromas.

TASTING NOTE:
