ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Domaine Ferrand is run by Nadine Ferrand who has managed the estate since 1984. Through her courage, determination and intuition she has developed and transformed the 11.5-hectare vineyard in the heart of the Pouilly Fuissé. In 2012, Nadine was joined by her eldest daughter Marine, the fourth generation to work in the family business. Having worked in the wine industry in the United States, Marine has brought with her innovative ideas while continuing the family philosophy of “expressing Chardonnay with a feminine touch”. Domaine Ferrand holds the Haute Valeur Environmentale Level 3 certification, which officially recognises the environmental performance of winegrowers, including biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategies, managed fertiliser use and water resource management.
THE VINTAGE
The 2022 vintage was a dry, hot and early vintage. Warm spring weather resulted in early flowering and the heat continued into summer. Localised thunderstorms brought water and some hail at the end of June and July and August were among the hottest and driest months of the last 30 years. The weather conditions enabled the vines to remain in exceptional health throughout the season. The grapes were harvested in good, healthy conditions and show excellent ripeness and luscious fruit characters.
ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
The vineyard is situated on east and southeast facing slopes at an altitude of 250 to 300 metres above sea level. The 45-year old vines are cordon trained and grown in chalky limestone and heavy clay soils from the Jurassic period. Domaine Ferrand holds the HVE Level 3 certification which officially recognises the environmental performance of winegrowers, including biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategies, managed fertiliser use and water resource management.
THE WINEMAKING PROCESS:
The grapes were gently pressed in a pneumatic press and fermented with wild yeasts at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, to retain the purity of fruit and the nuances of the terroir. Racking, blending and estate bottling took place in September.

An elegant Pouilly Fuissé showing aromas of fresh mint, peach and citrus that carry through to a fresh and mineral palate. A rich, complex and well balanced wine with remarkable vivacity on the finish.
