Casa del Valle – Tempranillo Cabernet Sauvignon ‘El Tidon’, Tierra de Castilla – 2022

ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Located in Yepes to the north of Toledo, Casa del Valle was established in 2000 with the aim of producing wines which reflect the personality of the local terroir and microclimate through their unique character. The 100 hectares of vineyard are planted with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, all chosen for their suitability for ageing and their well-defined character.

ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
The vines are grown in the Caliza Franco Arenosa soils of Castilla de la Mancha located around the village of Yepes, in the province of Toledo. In the vineyard there is a high proportion of calcareous soil which offers good water retention to nourish the vines during the warm summers. The vines are trained using the Double Cordon Royat system and the pruning is carried out by hand.

THE WINEMAKING PROCESS:
The two varieties were vinified separately in order to retain the varietal characteristics. Traditional vinification took place and the wine was matured in barrels to achieve greater complexity.

OUR TASTING NOTES:
Warm, earthy and mellow aromas with spice and ripe blackberry fruit with toasted wood in the background. Fruity and smooth.

GRAPE VARIETY:
Tempranillo 75%, Cabernet Sauvignon 25%.
