India

India has a long history of winemaking dating back to the Bronze Age. However, it wasn’t until the turn of the 21st century that demand really took off, growing at an astonishing rate of 20-30% a year! Now it is here to stay.

The city of Nashik, in the state of Maharashtra, is known to locals as the ‘Wine Capital of India’ and it is here that international grape varieties such as Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Viognier are grown. Sula Vineyards produces these international wines that are critically acclaimed, with Wine Enthusiast giving both of the winery’s Shiraz more than 90 points.
